About Us

        JuJu’s Kennels was born on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, but our story began long before that, back home in California. Growing up, we were surrounded by neighbors who cherished their Rottweilers; big, loyal family dogs who were gentle with kids, protective of their homes, and deeply loved by everyone around them. Watching that, we always dreamed of having one of our own. It felt like the kind of love our family was meant to experience… but for years, it just wasn’t possible.

        Twelve years later, everything changed. Our move to the Big Island blessed us with the land, space, and peace we needed to finally bring a Rottweiler into our lives. That’s when Toby came along, our first boy, the dog who captured our hearts from the very beginning. Toby wasn’t just a pet; he was a revelation. He showed us the true nature of these dogs: loyal beyond measure, loving, intelligent, and devoted to protecting the family they call their own. Through him, we fell in love not just with the breed, but with what they represent.

       JuJu’s Kennels exists because of that love and because of our daughter, Julissa. Her brother, could never quite pronounce her name, and lovingly called her “Juju.” When it came time to name our kennel, it was obvious. JuJu wasn’t just a nickname it symbolized our children, our family, our history, and the heart behind everything we do. We wanted people to know that we’re not just a business; we are a family. A real, down-to-earth, hands-on family that pours love, time, and intention into every dog we raise.

      And because we believed in giving families the very best, we chose to handpick exceptional dogs and bring in premium German bloodlines to the Big Island introducing a new, extraordinary lineage of Rottweilers to our community. Every dog we raise carries our story, our values, and our promise: that what we share with the world started with a dream, a family, and a dog named Toby who changed everything.
